Power "to you"!

Powerful Listening was a power-filled class.....(talking about how its easier said than done, I was trying to write this post and my husband was trying to tell me the new statistics on Syrian agriculture!!!) Ok, so when is it "precisely" that we call on the ALCHEMY of Powerful listening skills?!...

I was wondering after class if the keyword to listening is exactly the keyword to anything else in our life, Mindfulness, Being in the moment, Being so interested in whats happening now, Being especially curious to check out the result of the unravelling of a million co-incidences (or the lack of them)... the NOW... so maybe the most powerful listening tool of all is simply BEING...(in context of a coaching session) it would be: trusting that everything that we need to know to encounter this moment have already been learned, and that what needs to be born of it is being wrapped in linen around the beak of a magical stork, carrying with it a few more challenges for the days to come!

  2. My friend Ruth says: The mantra for being really present with the person we're listening to is: "listening with no thought of replying". There will be time later to accept or reject (if needed). Isn't that nicely said?

I was not on the call. I was attracted to your biography. I've been in finance for a long time before discovering myself a coach (a much longer time, actually :))

  3. Beautiful :) thank you Serge for your interest and comment, I checked out your blog (amazing niche!) I will definitely be following it. With regard to finance, I had to relocate from Jordan to Switzerland and it came at the time of crisis, in my final years as a Financial Controller, it felt like I was doing more coaching/mentoring than any other technical work, the effect on the work environment and productivity made me feel that I might enjoy a new career in this life-time, thanks again and looking forward to seeing you in class!
